The W.C.J.P.A. staff consisting of members of the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office and the Police of Chiefs of Warren County would like to invite any students interested in law enforcement, and who meet our strict requirements, to apply for our 2010 Warren County Junior Academy.

The Warren County Junior Police Academy is currently in the process of recruiting high school youths, ages 14 to 18, who are interested in possible careers in law enforcement.  The Academy's goal is to give youths the best information possible about the various careers in law enforcement.  It provides youths with the opportunity to experience law enforcement, hands on, through field trips, lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises.

The following is a list of some of the activities currently scheduled for the Academy:

a.      Classroom Lectures, e.g., Intro. To CJ System, Driving While Intoxicated, Police Officer Responsibilities, Patrol Operations/High Risk Traffic Stops, Arrest Procedures, and Criminal Investigations and Interrogations.

b.      Demonstrations/Tours, e.g., Warren County 911/Communications Center, Warren County Jail, K9 Narcotic Demonstration, NJSP Bomb Unit Demonstration, and Crimes on the Internet.

c.      Physical Activities, e.g., Formation/Marching Drill, Physical Training, Team Building Exercises and Self Defense.

d.      Hands-on Practical Exercises, e.g., Use of Force/Simulated Firearms Exercises, Motor Vehicle Stops, Crime Scene Investigation, Use of Force and Testifying in a Mock Trial.
