The Juvenile Unit of the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office is responsible for the prosecution of all juvenile offenders in Warren County with the exception of those accused of sex offenses and certain major crimes. The Unit is staffed with one Assistant Prosecutor, a Superior Officer, one detective, one secretary and one Victim/Witness Coordinator. The activities of the Unit are divided between a proactive administrative/educational component, and a reactive prosecutorial component.

The Juvenile Unit personnel:

• Are proactive in attempting to prevent juveniles from becoming involved in the juvenile justice system through a variety of community and school programs.
• Coordinate the DARE Program.
• Oversee the implementation of the Memorandum of Agreement between each school in the county and local law enforcement, agreeing to share information and generally cooperate regarding a large number of issues.
• On school request, the Unit will organize and conduct school drug searches with the help of trained canines from the local police departments.
